Introduction to Watercolour with Kat Healy
Learn about and explore a range of simple, effective, abstract watercolour and mixed media techniques with East Lothian artist Kat Healy.
The workshop is designed to encourage a safe, inclusive space for everyone to enjoy a moment of mindful creativity.
Be inspired by the sea and landscapes of East Lothian! Discover fun, accessible watercolour and mixed media techniques and create original abstract watercolour pieces and greeting cards to take home.
Techniques and textures include:
- Essential watercolour washes (water : pigment ratios)
- Wet in wet and wet on dry application
- Explore adding textures like salt, foil and clingfilm
- Experiment with your watercolour using acrylic inks, texture pastes, masking fluid, pencil, line and wash
The session includes all materials (high-quality artist-grade watercolour paper, A5 greeting cards and paints), and refreshments will be available throughout the 2.5hrs
Minimum age 12 years. Under 16s to be accompanied by an adult.
